Ahemdabad Blast Case : 38 to be hanged, 11 got life imprisonment

On behalf of the prosecution, the court had demanded the death penalty for all the culprits. At the same time, the defense had appealed to the Court of Appeal for at least the punishment. It is worth noting that in the Ahmedabad blast case, Judge AR Patel of the Sessions Court, while delivering the verdict on February 8, had convicted 49 accused.
The court has directed a compensation of Rs 1 lakh each to the families of the dead, Rs 50,000 to the injured and Rs 25,000 to those with minor injuries. 56 people were killed while around 244 were injured in the serial blasts. Among those injured were Ahmedabad city BJP leader Pradeep Parmar, who has now been made Minister of Social and Justice by the state government.
