8,063 new cases of Covid-19 in Mumbai in last 24 hours, 27% more than yesterday

8,063 new cases of corona virus (Covid-19) have been reported inside Mumbai in the last 24 hours, which is 27% more than on Saturday, January 1. According to the BMC's health bulletin, 578 recoveries were made in the last 24 hours in Mumbai. With this, the number of active cases in Mumbai has increased to 29,819.

The total number of Covid-related deaths in the city so far is 16,377, with no further deaths reported in the last 24 hours.

Significantly, 6,347 new cases of corona virus were reported in Mumbai on Saturday, 1 January and 5,631 new cases on Friday, 31 December. According to the state's Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, the maximum number of corona cases in Maharashtra so far have been reported from Mumbai and Pune.
