13 people died in the firing of security forces, two including a jawan lost their lives in the violence that broke out after the incident

At least 13 people were killed in firing by security forces in Nagaland's Mon district on the Indo-Myanmar border. Later, an Assam Rifles soldier was also killed in an attack by a mob of locals. After the tension prevailed for the whole day on Sunday, a mob of locals again surrounded the Assam Rifles camp in Mon Town late in the evening. The mob has set fire to some part of the camp.
NDTV's report said that police sources have also confirmed the death of one person in the firing by the security forces here. Curfew has been imposed in Mon Town and internet has been suspended till Monday. Along with this, Section 144 has been imposed, banning the movement of all types of vehicles except essential commodities.
Earlier, officials of the Assam Rifles said that there was information about the passing of militants belonging to the insurgent organization NSCN. Due to this, the security forces had kept a front near Oting village on Saturday. Meanwhile, a truck came on the Tiru-Oting road. When the truck did not stop, the security forces opened fire due to the possibility of a militant in it, in which 6 people died on the spot and 2 people later died in the hospital.
