The animated post was inspired by the popular sitcom, FRIENDS, and features Rohit, his wife, Ritika Sajdeh, their daughter, Samaira, and the new baby. This was captioned to read: “FAMILY – the one where we are Four.”
Not long after welcoming their first child, daughter Samaira, Rohit and Ritika became parents for the second time, welcoming a son on Friday, November 15. The news is good not just for Rohit and his loved ones however for the million fans of the Indian cricket team as it is highly likely he now stands a better chance of traveling to Australia and being present for the first Test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, which will commence on November 22 in Perth.

That was quick as it spread in no time including in South Africa, which was the last nation where the Indian T20I team had played a four-match series and ended up winning 3-1. He batted for sometime scoring a good 29 before he was injured by a rising ball from And-Break Rafael’s Prasidh Krishna. Rahul received treatment from the medical staff but did not return to the game, however the injury does not appear to be serious.
Meanwhile, a leading Australian publication reported that Virat Kohli underwent scans on Thursday however is all good and did not face any problems during the game dummy.
In case Rohit doesn't don the pads for the first Test, India have back-up options for the opening slot as they have an additional specialist opener Abhimanyu Easwaran in the Test squad. If needed, Shubman Gill, who is the designated No.3 batter in the team, can also take up an opening slot, as he had done well as an opener in his first series in 2020-21 where he scored 259 runs at an average of 51.80 which included a blistering innings of 91 runs in the second innings of the Brisbane Test to take his team over the line and into the record books.
Bringing the curtains down on the speculation, just like Rohit’s absence, head coach Gautam Gambhir confirmed that in case Rohit is axed, vice-captain Jasprit Bumrah will lead India in Perth.
