Girl dragged by car for 12 km, dies: Amit Shah seeks report from Delhi Police, AAP MLA claims accused is a BJP worker
People gather to protest outside Sultanpuri Police station regarding the death of a woman who died after she was dragged for a few km by a car that hit her in the Sultanpuri area on January 1.

A 20-year-old girl was hit by five car-borne youths in the Kanjhawala area of Delhi on December 31. After the accident, the youth started running away with the car. The girl was trapped under the car and kept dragging on the road for about 12 km. According to the police, he died on the spot. The police arrested all five youths.
On Monday, the accused were presented in Rohini court. The court has sent the five accused Manoj Mittal, Deepak Khanna, Amit Khanna, Krishna, and Mithun on police remand for three days. According to Delhi Police, Deepak Khanna was driving the car during the accident. Among them, Manoj Mittal is said to be the leader of the BJP.
Here, on Monday evening, Home Minister Amit Shah directed the Delhi Police to submit a report regarding the matter immediately. The case is being investigated by Shalini Singh, a woman officer of the Delhi Police. According to sources, the Ministry of Home Affairs has asked Shalini Singh to submit the report soon.
Here, Aam Aadmi Party MLA and Delhi's Deputy Speaker Rakhi Birlan claimed in an exclusive conversation with Dainik Bhaskar that the accused are associated with the BJP, hence the police is protecting them. Police are working under the pressure of the BJP. In the evening, the dead body of the girl was brought to Maulana Azad Medical College. Here a panel of three doctors did the postmortem for about one and a half hours.
Accused Deepak Khanna and Amit Khanna asked for a car from a friend on December 31 at around 7 pm. On 1 January i.e. just after the incident at 5 am, they parked the car at his house. 2. Deepak Khanna and Amit Khanna told their friend that they had hit a girl riding a scooty with their car. They were in an inebriated state and ran away from the accident spot in fear. Deepak Khanna was driving the car, and accused Manoj Mittal was sitting on the seat next to him. Mittal is described as a BJP leader. Mithun and Amit were in the back seat of the car.
